About Art Lokaj

A soulful singer and a guitar virtuoso, Art Lokaj has left an incredible and historical mark in the music scene in Kosova and Europe. Playing with the most distinguished artists in the region, both in numerous live concerts and studio recordings has made him a household name. Apart from composing his own music, Art also writes for the stage. Leading theatre productions as a musical director across Europe’s finest venues comes as no surprise considering his impeccable sense of quality and originality.

The pandemic stopped Art from playing live music but not from creating it. The brutality of isolation didn’t deter him either and he managed to write, produce and record his first album Use You, which became synonymous for celebration of life and music against all odds. Expressed through inventive blend of funk and soulful pop rock, each of the nine songs brought great pride and satisfaction to him as an artist and received the finest praise from his fans and peers. With Dukagjin Lipa as Executive Producer and Chris Boot as Mixing and Mastering Engineer Use You is a giant feat and Art’s major breakthrough as a solo artist. In late 2023 Art Lokaj teamed up with writer Jeton Kulinxha to establish a studio and a music house driven by mutual passion for writing, producing, and performing original compositions. Art embarked on a journey of honing musical projects with outstanding quality to contend in international markets and music charts and excel in live concerts and festivals. Soon Art’s desire for fresh music intensified and his second album Under New Management was born. Under New Management is a contemporary blend of (bass) guitar- and beat- and story-driven RnB, organic funk and pop-rock made with immaculate grooves and twists. The musical and personal journey of Under New Management became further enriched with the contribution of a group of friends and musicians, consummate professionals revered equally in the studio and in the live performance scene, but more importantly, celebrated artists in their own right: drummer Nesim Maxhuni, bassist Fatlind Ferati, pianists Ilir Bajri and Jeton Dolaku, saxophonist Arian Randobrava, trumpeter Philipp Labhart, vocalists Malda Susuri, Jozefina Simoni and Urta Haziraj, with Jeton Kulinxha in the role of singer-songwriter. The end of 2023 was celebrated with Art Lokaj Live on National Television, where Art and the newly created band mesmerised audiences not just in Kosova, but across the world.

And then 2024 started with Art Lokaj’s musical outfit organising the recording and the launch of Under New Management for September, 2024 – accompanied by live performances in venues across Kosova and Albania, with more dates in Europe, US, Africa and Asia to be confirmed.
